Darwen Trials Club - Affiliated to the AMCA
Supplementary Regulations for the Ann Isherwood Memorial Trial 2026

Usually held in late September, this is Darwen's major charity trial of the year. In memory of Mrs Isherwood, all profits are donated to Cancer Research charities in the local area.

Darwen Trials Club will organise an Open trial for solo motorcycles, held under the Rules of the AMCA, the following Supplementary Regulations and any Final Instructions issued for the meeting. Please take the time to carefully read any specific Safety Procedures and Notes produced by Darwen Trials Club which form part of the Supplementary Regulations. There will also be a Riders Briefing which all riders must attend ten minutes before the official start time.

DIRECTIONS:

From the south. Leave the M66 at Junction 2. At the roundabout take the fifth exit onto Bury New Road - A58 - towards Heywood. Leave the A58 at the roundabout after Morrisons in Heywood, taking Bamford Road. After one mile, turn left into Bury and Rochdale Old Road, then right into Ashworth Road. Follow this road for around two miles to the venue. From Edenfield. Follow the A680 south from Edenfield for four miles until you pass Ashworth Moor Reservoir to your right. Take Ashworth Road at the end of the reservoir. The venue will be to your left after around a mile.

No practising on this land without the landowner's permission.

ENTRY LIMIT: This trial has a limited entry of 120. In the event of the limit being exceeded, acceptance will be determined by Order of Payment. Entrants will be informed by email once payment is received and their entry is confirmed.
RESULTS: Will be published on the trialmonster.uk website
COURSE: Will comprise one or more laps of a course all on private land. No practising on this land before or after the event. The number of laps and sections will be announced at a riders’ briefing immediately before the event start.
SECTION MARKING AND SCORING: This trial will be a Stop Permitted trial.

Main route (usually Novice) is marked by bLue (Left) and Red (Right) markers with deviations for other routes as follows. Easy route - Pink, Intermediate - White, Expert - Yellow. 

The 50/50 route will ride a combination of Easy and Novice section and will attempt the easier route unless a '50/50' marker is shown at the section 'Begins' cards. The number of sections, laps and any changes will be announced at a briefing ten minutes before the start of the trial.

A machine will be deemed to be in the section when the front wheel spindle has passed the Section Begins card and marks will be awarded until the front wheel spindle has passed the Section Ends card. Marks lost will conform to the Clean-1-2-3-5 system. Further details can be found in the AMCA Trials Rule Book.
